He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon B. Smith Sr. and Juanita A Tyree Smith; his brother Leon Smith Jr.; and his niece Melissa Smith-McCutcheon. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Kirchner; his children, Rachel Closser (Jason) of Lake St and Kelsey Rickey (Brenton) of Hannibal, MO; his stepchildren, Kala Gebhard (Fritz) of St. Louis, MO, Kyle Yates (Ashley Crill) of Villisca, IA, Kody Yates (Christine) of St. Louis, MO and Janna Yates of Branson, MO; his sister Rita V. Paden of Quincy, IL; his sister-in-law Mary Smith of Hannibal, MO; and his grandchildren, Gracie Closser, Vera Closser, Brentley Rickey, Calvin Gebhard, Chase Gebhard, Delaney Yates, Taylor Yates, Adeline Yates and Elizabeth Yates. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
