He was predeceased by: his parents, James Powell and Laura Powell (Kilby); and his siblings, Virginia Alberta Maple, Henry Lloyd Powell, James Marion Powell, Robert Lee Powell, Edwin Lee Powell, Clifford Wayne Powell and Darrell Gene Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Alvina Powell of Hannibal; his stepsons, Lynn Akridge (DeDe), Danny Akridge of Hannibal, MO and Lanny Akridge of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Dylan Akridge (Sarah), Guage Akridge, Justin Alridge, Phillip Boatright, Haley Dye (Aaron) and Jocelyn Akridge; his sister Dorthea Flagel (Harlan) of Davenport, IA; and his nephew Larry Wayne Powell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
