She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hamilton Smith and Sarah Bernice McGruder Smith; her former husband Robert Boone, Sr.; her siblings, John Lowell Smith, Donald Maurice Smith, Gloria Beatrice Smith and Dorothy Kemp; and her nephew Harvey L. Kemp.

She is survived by: her spouse Merle Kelley; her son Robert L. "Grumpy" Boone, Jr. (Monica) of Fulton, MO; her siblings, Phillip Smith (Minnie) of Hannibal, MO and Connie Morrison (Billy) of Hannibal, MO; her brother-in-law Harvey Kemp of Hannibal, MO; her nephews, Tony Kemp, Andre Sherman James, Marcus Phillip Smith, John Anson Smith and Martin Trevor Morrison; her granddaughter LaShae Boone McCray (Demetrius); and her great grandchildren, Saniya B. Holmes and Demetrius McCray II.
