He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bud" Riding and Nadine Taylor Riding; his son Craig Davis; and his siblings, Margarette Riding Williams, Albert Riding, Alvin Riding, Charles Riding, Robert Riding, Vincent Riding and Richard Riding.
He is survived by: his children, Gregory Davis (Denise) of Hannibal, MO, Toni Rose of Hannibal, Monzell Riding (Sherri) of Hannibal, MO, James O. Riding Jr. (Priscilla) of Sacramento, CA and Tracey Riding of Norman, Oklahoma. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
