With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Louise Long of Hannibal, Missouri, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on July 12, 2022 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward L. Combs and Katherine Combs (Bopp); her husband Carroll "Mack" Long; her stepmother Clara Combs; her siblings, Edward L. Combs, Jr., Jim Combs, William Combs, George Seringer, Joe Combs and Frances Combs; and her close friends, Larry Rowe, Paul and Peggy Guptill.
She is survived by: her children, Ruth Hammontree (Dale) of Elsberry, MO and David Long (Donna) of Cartersville, GA; her grandchildren, Jason Hammontree (Jen) of Manchester, MO and Shawna Hammontree of Winfield, MO; her stepgrandchildren, Tim Solovikos, Scott Wise (Alison) and Colleen Lavender; her great grandchild Brayden Hammontree of Troy, MO; her nephews, Art Combs (Suzi) and Robert Combs (Judy); her niece Beverly Dauster (Doug); and her close friends, Donna Sutterberg and Laverne See. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
