He is survived by: his spouse Gayle Akerson; his children, Janna Hymers (David) of Hannibal, MO, Jeanna Mastin (Kevin) of New London, MO, Pamella Rinehart (John) of Evergreen, CO, Gwenda Duncan (Bill) of Hannibal, MO, Sheryl Wyatt (Tom) of Bellingham, WA, Lorena Hagensen (Renie) of Red Oak, IA and Timothy Layton (Jill) of Madison, MO; and his daughters-in-law, Joan Layton-Jewell and Virginia Layton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
