He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Arlow Charlton and Mary Frances Pierce Charlton; and his siblings, William Arlow Charlton Sr., Raymond Albert Charlton, Otis James Charlton, Bobby Jo Charlton Sr., Oliver B. Charlton, Eva Bell Charlton, Susie Mae Charlton, Eleanora Frances Charlton Bunch, Rita Louise Charlton and Rosie Mae Laydean Charlton.

He is survived by: his daughter Denise Swanker of Texas; his stepchildren, Vicky Moore (David) of Texas, Ray Clark of Missouri and Kevin Clark of Wisconsin; and his siblings, Victor Ronald Charlton (Jane) of Hannibal, Missouri and Betty Lou Charlton of Palmyra, Missouri. He is also survived by two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
