He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur John Hirner and Thelma Hoffman Hirner; his wife Evelyn Chaney; and his siblings, Donald Hirner and Delores Bradley.
He is survived by: his children, John Hirner (Catherine) of Hannibal, MO, Joseph Hirner (Trisha) of Hannibal, MO, Cherie Hirner of Quincy, IL and Jim Hirner of Quincy, IL; his grandchildren, Josh Hirner, Jesse Hirner, Sarah Hirner, Jacob Hirner, Jamie Hirner, Cari Rende, Kristin Gosnell, Kate Gosnell, Charles Hirner and Sam Hirner; and his great grandchildren, Leah Rende, Levi Rende and Sophie Schlueter.
