She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmo Lay and Maxine M. Gipson. She is survived by: her children, Janis M. Ray and Paco Guevara (Stacy) of St. Louis, MO.; and her brothers, Johnny Gipson and Larry Whitfield. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
