He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lester Elsworth and Hazel Mae McCabe Kessler; his wife Carmen Kessler of LaBelle, MO; his children, Debra Guinn (Terry) of Knox City, MO, Kelly Kessler (Jeannie) of Quincy, IL, Patti Woodard (Tim) of LaBelle, MO, Terry Alan Kessler of LaBelle, MO and Tracy Albert Kessler (Harley Wright) of LaBelle, MO; his siblings, Harold Kessler (Lois) of Bowen, IL, Charlie Kessler (Kathleen) of Edina, MO, Irene Powell of Palmyra, MO, Betty Songer of Edina, MO, Sue Wiskerchin of Ewing, MO and Linda Lay (Skip) of Lewistown, MO; his grandchildren, Stacy Guinn, Kyla Stroud, Kimber Kessler, Coby Kessler, Madison Kessler, Aaliyah Kessler and Alan Kessler; his sons, Scott and Jerry Keith Kessler; and his siblings, Floyd, Donald Kessler, Willa Strange and Velma Blake. He was also cherished by five step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
