He was predeceased by: his parents, Melven Helseth and Opal Helseth (Getchell); his brothers, Marlen and Ray; and his brother-in-law Vernon Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Kirby; his children, Keith Helseth (Melissa) of Kirksville, MO and Sherilyn Bills (Mike) of Kidder, MO; his grandchildren, Taylor Bills, Victoria and Jessica Helseth; his great grandchildren, Sawyer Bills and Russell Osborn; and his siblings, Ardith Johnson and Marvin Helseth (Marilyn) of Windsor, MO.
