He was predeceased by: his father Theodore Haefner; and his daughter Alyssa Haefner. He is survived by: his wife Angela Haefner (Bauer); his son Garrett Haefner (Caitlin); his grandson Grayson Haefner; his mother Shirleymae Haefner (Duessel); his brother Glenn Haefner (Barb); and his nieces and nephews, Grant Haefner (Priscilla), Ginelle Morin (Scott) and Emma Bauer.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in his name to: St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055.
