He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Ables and Letha Ables; his wife Ruth Ables; his grandson Jason Hill; and his siblings, Aubrey, Marvin, V. O. Ables and Frances Dunlap.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debbie Reed (Gary) of Greenville, MO, Kathie Byrd (Tim) of Lexington, NC, Cindy Klamer (Michael) and Betty Norr (Rob) of Iron Mountain, MI; and his siblings, Rowdy Ables of Center Ridge, Bobby Ray Ables of Humphrey and Deloris Ables Tosh of Jackson, Tenn.. He is also survived by Nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and his pride and joy, his great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
