He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lewis Howard and Violet Howard (Handley); and his siblings, Harold Howard, William Howard, Wayne "Yogi" Howard, Raymond Howard, James Leon Howard and Ada Mae Sayre.

He is survived by: his son Jason Howard of Milan; his granddaughter Kylie; and his siblings, Dorothy Carter of Cincinnati, Shirley Moncrief of Queen City, Fleda Michael (Terry) of Milan, Robert Howard of Laredo, Richard "Tex" Howard of Green City and Kenny Howard of Green City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
