He was predeceased by: his father Andy; and his former wife Mary (Crites). He is survived by: his wife Pauline McCarty; his son James "Jim" (Laurie); his grandchildren, Katelyn McCarty and Michael McCarty; and his sister Jean Bennett of Greenville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
