It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertha Hughes of Grant City, Missouri, born in Gentry, Missouri, who passed away on January 27, 2021, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George L. Paxton and Cora E. Paxton; her husband Joe; her sons, Larry, Ronnie and Doyle; her grandchildren, Rhonda Hughes, Jason Hughes and Randall Hughes; and her siblings, Leamon, Clarence, Robert, Earl, Hershel Paxton, Myrtle Carlock and Elsie Riley.
She is survived by: her former husband Joseph Grant Hughes; her children, Gary, Kenny and Donna; and her grandchildren, Ricky Hughes, Megan Forster (Jordan), Lindsey Haldiman (Tom), Derick Hughes, Brenda Hughes, Jeff Barnett, Debbie Miller, Melissa Purcell (Donald), Sherri Hughes, Joe Hughes (Amanda), Terry Jennings, Danny Jennings (Jan), Michelle Summers (Andrew) and Sarah McCord (Wes). She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
