He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gail Sissel and Edna Fern Sissel (Reynolds); and his wife Leona Sissel. He is survived by: his siblings, J. Darlene Matthis (Sissel), Roemma Tull (Sissel), Delbert Sissel and Dorthy Smith (Sissel); and his children, Victoria Young (Dennis), Lorelei Horn (Gary), Doyle Sissel (Cheri), Darrell Sissel (Melinda), Darwin Sissel and Gordon Sissel (Rachelle). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
