He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe J Hilburn and Kathryn Hilburn (Arterburn); and his half-siblings, Lloyd Hilburn, RJ Hilburn and Arvella Luther.
He is survived by: his wife Mary June Cadle; his children, John V. Hilburn Jr. (Margie), Mary K. Garcia and Carla E. Creswell (Dale); his grandchildren, Jennifer Dromey (Michael), Rebecca Fruits (David), Jason Hansmann (Nichole), Ashlee Creswell (Donald), Sarah Garcia and Rene Creswell; and his great grandchildren, Henry, Jack, Josephine Dromey, Ardun, Bennett Fruits, Bella Hoffman, Killian Creswell, Alyssa Farage and Michelle Hansmann.
