He was predeceased by: his father Burford McCorkle; and his brother Steven McCorkle (Maureen McCorkle). He is survived by: his mother Martha McCorkle; his wife Maureen Burnett McCorkle; his sons, Joseph McCorkle (Miranda) and Kevin McCorkle; and his caregiver Marian Delmendo.
When David returned home, he found his passion for helping others and started a charity for children in Iraq.
