It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Shumate of Gower, Missouri, who passed away on January 11, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Aldon and Beulah Ann Baker (DeWeese); her husband Robert E. Shumate; her siblings, Aldon Baker, W. A. Baker and Rachel Smith; her granddaughter Melissa Kasunic; and her grandson-in-law Benjamin Reed.

She is survived by: her children, Marcia Manning (Grover), Robert Shumate (Marcia), Patricia Nelson (Larry), Janet From (Dennis) and Debra Ostrander (Steve); her grandchildren, Brandon (Kayla), Allen (Tabetha), Brenda, Kevin (Melanie), Anthony, Nathaniel (Hannah), Timothy (Ciera), Craig, Karen (Adam), Julie (Brett), Daniel (Anne), Brian (Melissa), Rachel (Bryant), Andrew (Andrea), Alyssa (Nate) and Aaron; and her sisters, Jean O'Dell and Alice Walker (Jerry). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
