She was predeceased by: her parents, John Peter and Marie Eakes (Schaefer); her son Glenn E. Smith; and her sisters, Rose Ann McRoberts, Marcella Westwood, Regina Bultez and Mary Calvino.
She is survived by: her husband Lester Smith; her sons, Robert L. Smith of Kansas City and Charles D. Smith of St. Joseph, Missouri; her brother Joe Eakes of Topeka; and her grandson Matthew Luttrell.
