With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Mae Nelson of Golden City, Missouri, born in Oakville, Ontario, who passed away on January 26, 2021 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Douglas Thornton and Alice Mabel Calhoun Thornton; her spouse Delmas Nelson; and her sister Ruth Roberts (Thornton). She is survived by: her children, John Alan Nelson (Kelly) of Murfreesboro, TN, Elaine Kelly (Kelly) of Marshall, MO, Lynn Nelson-Brown (Michael) of Chattanooga, TN and Kathryn Nelson (John Coffman) of St. Louis, MO; her grandchildren, Michael Nelson (Briana), Jerrad Kelly, Kirsten Kelly, Grant Brown (Isabel), Ethan Brown, Dylan Brown, Gavin Brown, Mavis Coffman and Quinn Coffman; and her great grandchildren, Arya Kelly and Atalie Nelson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made to Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood or Dade County Genealogical Society.
