She was predeceased by: her parents, Alex Engle and Areny Engle (Jordan); her son Billy Dale Hayes; and her grandchildren, Shauna Hayes and Alex Hayes, Jr..

She is survived by: her former husband Samuel E. Hayes; her husband Paul S. Trester; her children, Bob Hayes (Tess) of Armstrong, MO, Alex Hayes (Linda) of Yates, MO, Kathleen Wilson (Jerry) and Ronnie Hayes (Joann) of Armstrong, MO; her stepchildren, Joe Trester (Barb) of Olathe, KS and Susan O'Donnell of Texas; and her sister Henrietta Thompson of Montrose, CO.. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
