He was predeceased by: his parents, William George and Mary Elizabeth Metz (Matile); and his brothers, John Metz, David Metz and Bill Metz.

He is survived by: his wife Cathy Metz; his children, Clinton Metz of Gladstone, Cheryl Metz of Columbia and Lisa Cook (Walter) of Mission, Kansas; his granddaughter Eleanor Valentine Cook; and his siblings, Daniel Metz (Beverly) of Emporia, Louis Metz (Doris) of Glenrock, Wyoming, Mary Hayes of Emporia and Betty Gray of Watsonville, California..

Memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and can be left in care of the funeral home.
