He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryan "Bud" S. and Mary E. Rule (Bruce); his wife Beverly Rule; his stepsons, Richard Goebel and Robert Goebel; and his siblings, Harold D. Rule, Paul Rule, Kenneth A. Rule, Mary L. Greer, Amy J. O'Connor and Geneva P. Maxwell.
He is survived by: his brother Larry Rule of Phoenix, AZ; his granddaughters, Ginny Nyberg (Stephen) of Kansas City, MO, Dana Worboys (Brent) of Kansas City, MO and Jamie Ristaino (John) of Little Rock, AR; his great grandchildren, Trent, Emma, Hannah, Franklin Worboys, Richard, Rogers, Abigail Nyberg, Olivia and Vera Ristaino; and his daughters-in-law, Jeanne Tyson (Paul) and Terri Wise (Walt). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to ALS Association or American Cancer Association.
