She was predeceased by: her parents, Sister Lawassa Harshaw-Jones (Vernon) and Brother Charles Colvin (Jackie); her niece Kay Harshaw Duncan; and her nephews, Jerry Sample and John Harshaw.

She is survived by: her husband Paul Andrew Bennett; her nephews, Tom Colvin (Chris) and Tim Colvin (Kim); her great-niece Jennifer Capps; her nieces-in-law, Doris Sample and Pam Harshaw; and her great-nephews, JD Sample (Karla), John Ross Harshaw, Phillip Harshaw and Charlie Colvin.

Memorials may be made to Children's Mercy Hospital or the Salvation Army.
