He was predeceased by: his mother Bonnie Gassman; his grandparents, Chuck, Francis Lackey, Edward and Lillian Gassman; and his son Dustin Cox.

He is survived by: his wife Tina Lackey; his father David Lackey; his children, Jeffrey Lackey Jr. (April), Mathew Cox (Eddie), Mileen Cox (Dinerio Bell) and Martin Cox; his brother Greg Lackey (Debbie); his niece Jessica Lackey; his nephew Tony Lackey; and his grandchildren, Trinity, Cameron, Desire, Da'Shawn, Joaquin, Dustin, McKinnzey and Alycia.
