He was predeceased by: his parents, Grant Flakne and Elsie Flakne (Rock); and his siblings, Louis Flakne, Nettie Brockmeier, Mabel Flakne, Evelyn Cooper and Sylvia McDaniel.

He is survived by: his children, Larry Flakne (Mary) of Fulton, MO, Dianne Romain (Sterling Bennett) of Guanajuato, Marilyn Leissinger (Henry) of Metairie, LA, Nancy Bentley of Olathe, KS, Jerry Flakne (Carla) of Buckeye, AZ, Sylvia Bronner (Mike) of Haysville, NC and Theresa Albrecht (Donnie) of Norborne, MO.. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Earl also donated extra time to shape the land for the Carrollton Little League Field.
