He is survived by: his wife Deborah Yates (Debbie); his son Richard Yates; his grandchildren, Nevaeh, Keaton, Sophia and Aurora; his pet Tux; his son Christopher Yates (Shaggy); his brother Troy Yates (Dominique); his nephew Perrin Yates (Serena); and his mother Paula Yates.

Donations may be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care or the Vasculitis Foundation.
