He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Martha Lorraine Sheffield; his children, Mark Payne of Gallatin, Sharon Payne, Brazil and Dean Payne of Fountain; and his sister Charlotte Hartley. He was also cherished by five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren.
