He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph W. Platt and Ruby Mae Platt; and his son Joseph L. Platt, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Maria Luz Platt; his daughter Jenny Golay (Ron); and his stepdaughter Lupita Sepulveda (Juan). He is also survived by four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
