He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis William Quinlan and Dorothy Frances Quinlan (Howard); his brother John Joseph Quinlan; and his brother-in-law Robert Lee Barry. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Quinlan (Cramer); his son Jim Coffin (Amanda); his siblings, Michael Louis Quinlan, Mary Lou Barry, Margaret Mary Schisler (Joseph) and Rosemary Frances Pelak (Steve); and his grandchildren, Jacob Coffin and Haylee Purdy (Taylor). He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
