He was predeceased by: his parents, Ella Rachell Steward (Nichols) and Garland Maurice Eugene Steward III; his wife Anna Sue Steward (Black); his son Kaharri Lynell Steward; and his sister Beverly Steward.
He is survived by: his children, Wendell Steward Jr., Michael Kemp, Keon Black, Jewelena Alexander (Scott) and Ciara Cheatum; his close friend Wanisha Reed; his siblings, Garland Steward (Cherrie), Gerald Steward (Teresa), Ramon Steward, Maurice Steward, Audrey Ray and Annita Hopkins (Zachary); and his grandchildren, A'davion Kemp, Jayda Thompson, Kason Steward, Nakisha Black and Jazzmin Alexander. He is also survived by one great grandchild on the way and a host of, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
