He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Lee Scott and Myrtle Ann Scott (McClatchey); his former wife Ruby McCowan; his wife Laura Schulte; his daughter Kristina Bright (Scott); his brothers, Jimmy Scott and Gene Scott; his daughter-in-law Jamie Scott; his father-in-law Art Schulte; his sister-in-law Rhonda Schulte; and his niece Judy Finley (Scott).
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Lynn Allen (Scott) and Buddy Lee Scott (Karen); his grandchildren, Nick "Andy" Johnson, Travis Scott, Madison Bright and Macey Bright; his mother-in-law Ruth Schulte; his siblings-in-law, John Schulte (Donna), Joe Schulte, Julie Schulte, Jenny Schulte and Sandy Scott; and his son-in-law Wallace "Doc" Allen.
