He was predeceased by: his parents, Riley and Jessie Lea Briggs (Shultz); his wife Evelyn Joan Getty; and his children, Dale Ann Fugate and Robert "Rob" Briggs.
He is survived by: his children, Larry "Peanut" Briggs (Lonna Bremer), John Briggs (Diana) of Peculiar and Brenda Lavery (Ron) of Freeman. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Freeman Baptist Church in Freeman.
