He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Monroe Hovis (Bennie) and Serepta Susan Sanders Hovis; his sisters, Rose Marie Hovis and Mary Maxine French (Angie); and his son James Paul Hovis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Ann Susan McAfee (Richard) of Fredericktown, MO and Shirley May Maum (Ronnie) of Haughton, LA; his grandchildren, Michael Dean Goldsberry Springfield (Meghan) and Sue Ann Maria (Nickolas); and his great grandchildren, Kalynn Taylor McClain and Jayde Amberlee McClain. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Follis & Sons Chapel (700 Madison Plaza Dr, Fredericktown, MO 63645). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at the Mt Pisgah Cemetery.
