He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Cecil and Nellie Mae Starkey; and his siblings, Mary Jane Stonehouse, Marvin Starkey and Bob Starkey.
He is survived by: his wife Bessa Lee Starkey; his children, Melvin Lee "Toad" Starkey (Sylvia), James P. Starkey (Sandra) and Saundra Hilterbrand Ivison; his siblings, Bill Starkey (Linda), Roy E. "Bud" Starkey (Lois), Della Rhodes, Pearl Sitze, Joan Stevens and Patricia Deguire; and his grandchildren, Matthew Hiterbrand (Alicia), Deidre Smith (Joshua), Kieran Ivison, Stacey Thomas, Jason Thomas (Samantha), Gena Crump, Ginger Couch and Jenifer Reynolds. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, and eight (8) great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Follis & Sons Chapel (700 Madison Plaza Dr, Fredericktown, MO 63645). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
