He was predeceased by: his parents, Harmon Howard Royer and Audrey Jewel Royer (Means); his brothers, Charles and Paul Dean Royer; and his brothers-in-law, George Starkey, Gene Lewis, Gary Elders, Eddie Elders and Ed Turnbeaugh.

He is survived by: his wife Geneva Elders of Fredericktown, Missouri; his children, Jeffrey Lee Royer of Fredericktown, Robin Lynette Spencer (Bill) of Chattanooga and Jared Wayne Royer (Terri) of Columbia, Missouri; his siblings, Howard Royer (Norma) of Fredericktown, Roy Royer (Joyce) of Fredericktown, Louis Royer (Barbara) of Fredericktown, Shirley Royer (Gracie) of Fredericktown and Linda Starkey of Fredericktown; his grandchildren, Dustin Royer (Carrie), Sydney Moore (Brylan), Aubrey Royer, Isaac Spencer, Aaron Spencer, Asa Spencer, Abigail Royer, Alexander Royer, Andrew Royer, Addison Royer and Brendan Royer; and his great grandchildren, Lane Austin and Willow Ann.
