It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emmett Wood of Franklin, Missouri, born in Hannibal, Missouri, who passed away on August 21, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Emmett Murray Wood; his granddaughter Lexie Wood; his former wife Jennie Lee; his nephew Lucas Grindstaff; his son-in-law Shawn Delong; and his father-in-law George Grindstaff.
He is survived by: his mother Ruby Mae Wood (Smallwood) of Pilot Grove; his wife Donna Wood (Stockwell) of Franklin; his children, Jennie Wolf of Franklin, J. R, Cami Dawn Wright of Boonville, Norman Keith Wood of Franklin, Kimberly Martin of North Platt, Michelle Wood-Knight of Plattsmouth and Darrell Greenfield (Cassandra); his grandchildren, Steven Delong (Heather Gallop), Tiffany Smiley, Melissa McLane-Wood (Joseph Ferrill), Jennie Wood (Stephen LaFromboise), Jordan Wood (Patricia Matchett), Bentley Mason Wood, Remington Greenfield, Ryker Greenfield, Shelby Gibbs (Taylor) and Justin Duca (Mckayla); and his sisters, Wanda Sue Kreitel of Pilot Grove, Christina Templeton of Mesquite and Rosemary Marie Arndt of Slater. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital or American Cancer Society.
