He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Schindler and Estella Smallwood Schindler; and his brothers, Louis Schindler and Joseph Schindler. He is survived by: his children, Kristi Pierceall (John), Willie Schindler (Trina), Russell Schindler and Kathleen Herren (Mat); his grandchildren, Keri Schindler, Carl Schindler, Hannah Schindler, Zac Crane, James Herren, Emily Herren, Henry Herren, Caleb Pierceall and Laken Pierceall; and his great grandchildren, Hauns Nunenacher, Solomon Pierceall and Thrain Pierceall.

Memorial contributions may be to the St Jude Children Hospital or the COPD Foundation.
