He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Bruning (Blackwood) of Foley, MO; his sons, David Bruning of Troy, MO, Carl (Dawn Bruning) of Foley, MO and Brad Bruning of Old Monroe, MO; his grandchildren, Kevin Bruning, Andy Bruning (Kira) and Heather Bruning; his stepgrandchildren, Sara and Shawn Sims; and his great grandchildren, Brylen, Kinsey, Isaiah, Liam, Colton, Rhett and Trinity. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
