He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Frederick Smetzer Sr. and Verda Smetzer (Slinkard); his wife Martha Smetzer (Ellison); his sister Earlene Smetzer; and his son-in-law Eric Hurst.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Sanders of Festus, MO, Brandy Hurst of Festus, MO and Sandi Smetzer (Ken Edmonds) of Festus, MO; his siblings, Greg Smetzer of Herculaneum, MO and Carol Russom of Festus, MO; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron, Jeffrey (Anna) and Ashleigh. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, numerous family members, and dear friends.
