She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Mathes and Maggie Turnbough (Clements); and her siblings, Oscar, Mathes, Jr., Betty Campbell and Mary Lou Etling.

She is survived by: her children, Jerry Wideman (Caroll), Kathy Miller (Herb), Tracy Rice (Ron) and Stephanie Halloran (James); her stepdaughters, Donna Gibson and Verna Gillmann; and her siblings, Patsy Liscombe and Almaretta Farrar. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She and Vernon also loved bluegrass music and prior to Covid-19, spent every week going to where Vernon played guitar in a bluegrass band.
