He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Thomas and Lillian Thomas; and his sister Shirley Jennewein. He is survived by: his wife Judy Thomas; his daughter Kelly Steffens (Nathan); his grandchildren, Tawny Brown (Travis), Ryan Steffens and Dakota Steffens; and his siblings, William Thomas (Carolyn), Mary Scism (Norbert) and Janet Denny (Frank). He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews, family and friends.
