He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Cheryl Birdnow Dear; his father Virgil; his stepchildren, Mindi Roland (Gary) of St. Louis and John Upchurch (Angel) of St. Louis; his grandchildren, John Tyler, Max, Miles, Chase and Mason; and his siblings, Bobbe and Virgil.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in his name.
