He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Ayres and Viola Ayres (Valentine). He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Jean Thompson of Tyler, TX.; his children, David Thompson Ayres (Laura) of Osprey, FL and Amy Elizabeth Larkin (Joe) of Oskaloosa, IA; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, William, Raphe and Katherine; his sister Betty Otto (Robert) of Chicago, IL.; and his nephews, Samuel and Robert Otto.
