He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Emmett and Nellie Holst (Conner); his former wife Lois Branstetter; and his siblings, Jack, Wilson, Johnny, Dolcy, Robert, Noah, Daniel, Naomie Holst, Nehemiah "Nicky" Van Skyke, Kathryn Boggs and Nell Hendricks.
He is survived by: his former wife Eula Brandl; his wife Eula Holst of Tipton, MO; his children, David A. Holst (Carolyn) of Columbia, MO, Ray Holst of Durham, NC, Beth Gottsman of Fayette, Holly Owings (Kavin) of Fayette and Barbara Cruser (Mike) of Columbia, SC; and his siblings, Tiny Burchard of Mountain Grove, MO and Dewey Holst of Fayette, MO.. He is also survived by seven step-children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Walnut Ridge Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
