He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Pirtle (Wells); his sons, Jeremy Pirtle (Sara) and Justin Pirtle; his siblings, Stanley Pirtle, Shelby Pirtle, Stuart Pirtle (Butch), Sue Ellyn Reitzel, Sally Hovis and Sherri Reed; and his grandsons, Samuel Pirtle, Jacob Pirtle and Connor Pirtle.
