He was predeceased by: his father James Alfred Ratcliff Sr.; his son-in-law Stan Ketcherside; his nephew Dylan Woods; and his sister-in-law Alice Woods. He is survived by: his wife Katherine Ratcliff (Woods); his children, Julie Ketcherside and James A. Ratcliff III; and his grandchildren, Stanton Ketcherside (Krissie) and Lucy Ratcliff. He is also survived by two brothers, a sister, nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members and friends.
