Irene Gillespie Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Irene Gillespie of Farmington, Missouri, born in Sainte Genevieve, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 7, 2024 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin King Johnson and Maggie Mabel Johnson (Mills); her husband Delmar Gardner Gillespie; her son Gary Delmar Gilespie; and her sisters, Amanda Ruth Johnson Gallagher, Verna Mae Johnson Skaggs and Ruby Estelline Johnson Wulfers.
She is survived by: her nephew James Gallagher (Colleen); and her nieces, Sandra Skaggs Mackley Burchett (Robert), Debora Skaggs Mackley (Kenneth), Pamela Wulfers Portell (Steve), Cynthia Wulfers Alexander (Bryce), Lisa Wulfers and Angela Wulfers Fix. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cozean Memorial Chapel (217 W Columbia St, Farmington, MO 63640). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. After retirement, she continued volunteering at Parkland Health Center until she was forced into retirement during Covid shutdown at the age of 96!
